Newly developed, CVD-coated carbide grades with improved properties deliver optimum results and high process reliability. The newly developed carbide substrate with 10 % improved hardness at high operating temperatures. As a result, the indexable insert is more resistant to deformation, has a longer tool life and enables highly efficient turning operations. The new coating technology has 40% better adhesion to the new carbide substrate. This gives the indexable insert reduced and more controlled wear. An increased ratio of the a-AI2O3 layer produces superior hardness and toughness, resulting in longer tool life.
