The new drills called "Magic Drill DRV" are intended for use in the automotive, aerospace and medical technology industries in particular. For the first time, they combine a CVD (Chemical Vapour Deposition) indexable insert for use on the outer cutting edge with a PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) indexable insert for the inner cutting edge. This enables particularly fast and highly efficient drilling. The chip breakers developed for this also improve chip evacuation from the drill hole. At the same time, the thicker centre core of the holder increases the bending strength. As a result, the new drills can now drill up to 6D (6 times the holder diameter) deep for the first time.
